Developing a Collection of Vibrant Pattern Designs for a Creative Yoga Brand
THE CHALLENGE
Omnya House is an international community in Barcelona, connecting creative artists, yogis, and open-minded people from all over the world to create an inclusive and inspiring space to learn and grow.
The studio needed to develop a collection of vibrant pattern designs that exude boldness and color and makes the brand stand out amongst its competition. The challenge lied in striking a balance between nostalgia and innovation, creating patterns that not only resonate with this audience but also reflect the studio's mission of fostering artistic expression and connection.
THE SOLUTION
Drawing inspiration from the rich, bohemian heritage and yoga philosophy, I developed a series of patterns that fuse familiar "zen" elements with unexpected twists. Earthy hues like browns, blues, and yellows form the foundation, while strategic pops of red, black, and white add vibrancy. These patterns serve as an integral part of Omnya House's brand identity, offering a unique aesthetic that captures the essence of a creative, international community.
THE PROCESS
The creative process started with designing and cutting out several paper shapes inspired by bohemian motifs, featuring celestial elements like the sun, moon, and mystical eye, alongside an assortment of leaf designs. These paper shapes were scanned into the computer. Along with these shapes I digitally painted silhouettes of different yoga poses in Procreate and converted them, along with the paper shapes, into vector objects in Adobe Illustrator. All of these icons were then combined into badges in Adobe Photoshop, and combined with pain strokes and geometric shapes. Eventually, the badges were exported into patterns were different color combinations were explored.
